Hello! I’m Janara
(pronounced Ja-na-da), CEO and Master Designer of Sili+Bells.
Our Story
Born in Harlem and raised in Chicago, I bring together a background in Sociology, Visual Communications, and an MBA in Marketing—along with over a decade of experience in corporate marketing and graphic design. Before Sili+Bells, I founded Jais-Ink, a graphic design firm, where I honed my eye for visual storytelling and brand identity.
In 2013, I stepped away from the corporate world to focus on my family. What began as a creative outlet—making jewelry for my children—quickly became something more meaningful.
Sili+Bells was officially born in 2017, named after my daughters, Silina and Isabella. The spark came from a simple moment: after my daughter lost yet another pair of sterling silver earrings, I decided to create stylish, affordable, “safe metal” alternatives myself. That small, personal solution grew into a brand rooted in intention, creativity, and care.
Today, Sili+Bells creates handcrafted jewelry and accessories using upcycled leather, repurposed denim, stainless steel, and thoughtfully chosen beads. Every piece is designed as wearable art—bold yet refined, expressive yet timeless.
Each design reflects individuality and craftsmanship, blending sustainability with elevated style. What started at my kitchen table has grown into a brand that celebrates conscious fashion, creative expression, and pieces made to be worn, loved, and lived in.

Sili+Bells was featured on the hit television series Grown-ish during seasons 3 through 5. Several pairs of our handcrafted earrings were worn by Kiela Hall, portrayed by Daniella Taylor, as part of the show’s bold and expressive costume design led by Michelle Cole.
Seeing Sili+Bells styled on screen was a full-circle moment—proof that sustainable, handcrafted design belongs in fashion-forward spaces.
